কিছু শিক্ষাথী সবসময়ই জানতে চায় যে তারা কোন বিষয়ে উচ্চ শিক্ষা নিবে?

অনেক শিক্ষার্থী কোন বিষয়ে উচ্চ শিক্ষা নিবে, সে ব্যাপারে আগে থেকেই ধারণা থাকে এবং সেই ভাবেই তারা প্রস্তুতি নিয়ে থাকে ।

অন্যদিকে অনেকের কোন ধারণাই নেই – বা তারা জানেনা – কোন বিষয়টি উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য বেচে নিবে।  এই পরিস্থিতিতে, সরাসরি একটি নির্দিষ্ট বিষয় অনুসন্ধানের পরিবর্তে, সবাইকে আগ্রহের সাধারণ ক্ষেত্র সম্পর্কে চিন্তা করা যুক্তিযুক্ত।

এটি করার সবচেয়ে সহজ উপায় হল নিজেকে কিছু মৌলিক প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করা:

আমি সত্যিই কোন বিষয়ে আনন্দ পাই ?

এই প্রশ্নটি সর্বপ্রথম আপনাকে ভবিষ্যতের কোনও চাকরির আকাঙ্ক্ষা এবং কর্মজীবনের সম্ভাবনা থেকে আলাদাভাবে জিজ্ঞাসা করা উচিত।  সর্বোপরি, আপনি যে বিষয়টিতে উচ্চশিক্ষা গ্রহণ করতে চান সে বিষয়ে সিদ্ধান্তটি সম্ভবত আপনার জীবনের বাকি অংশের উপর প্রভাব ফেলবে।  সুতরাং আপনি নিশ্চিতভাবে যা কিছু পছন্দ বা উপভোগ করেন তাই উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য বেছে নিতে পারেন।

আমার আগ্রহ কিসে ?

আপনি অনেক জিনিসেই আগ্রহী? তারপর বিভিন্ন আগ্রহ একত্রিত করার চেষ্টা করুন। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, যদি আপনি বিদেশী সংস্কৃতি, ভূগোল, এবং রাজনীতিতে আগ্রহী হন তবে আপনি ‘আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক’ বিষয়টি পছন্দ করতে পারেন।

আমার ট্যালেন্টস কিসে ?

কখনও কখনও আপনার আগ্রহ এবং আপনার বিশেষ প্রতিভা বিপরীত।  উদাহরণস্বরূপ, যদি আপনি ফার্মাসির প্রতি আগ্রহী হন এবং জীববিজ্ঞান বিষয়গুলির উপর সামান্য দক্ষতা থাকে বা কম গ্রেড পেয়ে থাকেন তবে আপনাকে সতর্কতার সাথে বিবেচনা করতে হবে, আপনি আসলেই ফার্মাসিতে অধ্যয়ন করতে চান কিনা?

কোন ক্ষেত্রটিতে আমি পড়তে চাই ?

সাবধানে বিবেচনা করার পরে, আপনি যে বিষয়ের উপর পড়তে চান সে সম্পর্কে আপনার ধারণা থাকা উচিত।  উচ্চশিক্ষার বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের উপর তথ্য অন্বেষণ করুন, যা আপনার আগ্রহ সম্পর্কে সঠিক ধারণা পেতে সাহায্য করবে।
